Green Clean your RV

1. WASH YOUR RV or MOTORHOME
in the morning or evening to avoid water spots. Always wash your RV with earth friendly cleaners like our EPA Certified CleanEz quickly removes dirt, grease and oil from your RV. Its gentle nature is easy on your finish and even easier on Mother Earth since it contains no toxic phosphates found in most cleaners.

Wash using ½ cap of CleanEz and ½ cup food grade distilled white vinegar per bucket of water. Vinegar is an excellent cleaner and it’s a mild acid so it neutralizes the alkali in the water to help prevent water spots. Tackle the roof first scrubbing the gaskets around vents and fans with a stiff bristled toothbrush. Next wash and dry the sides in sections.

2. EARTH FRIENDLY TOOLS TO CLEAN YOUR RV

Wash your RV or motorhome without leaving swirl marks by using a soft cotton wash pad or even softer Lambswool pad. We carry both a 100% Cotton Wash Pad and our exclusive 100% Lambswool Wash Pad. Each cleans safely without scratching like some brushes. Paint companies and fiberglass manufacturers recommend cotton for an RV manufactured prior to 2003.

The Lambswool Wash Pad is best used with newer paints and sealants. Do not mistake 100% Lambswool pads with imitations. Imitation Lambswool is made from 100% polyester, which is plastic. Plastic scratches. Given time it will scratch the finish off your RV or vehicle.

Both the Sof Wash and the Lambswool Wash attach to our swivel pad holder, which attaches to our fiberglass extension handle or any ACME threaded handle. Thin enough to clean under ladders and awning bars, it swivels to get under, over and around curves to keep you off the ladders while you wash your RV.

3. DRY QUICKLY TO PREVENT WATER SPOTS

Look ma – no ladders. To dry an RV fast enough to prevent water spots means leaving the ladders behind. Start with our EZE Squeegee, which works like a window squeegee only it won’t gouge the sides with metal channels. Then finish with a towel over our patented Cleaning Head.Ever wish you had a holding device so your towels won’t fall on the ground? Mary’s Cleaning Head comes to the rescue. “Velcro” type hook fasteners grab the “loops” in a terry towel to hold it firmly in place to dry your RV. Use it to clean awnings, mop floors, remove morning dew, apply CleanEz to get rid of black streaks or combined with our Angle Adapter clean your satellite dome and clean the top of the pull outs.

Don’t use just any terry towel to dry your RV, grab one of our bamboo and cotton blend terry towels. These ultra soft, super absorbent eco-freindly towels hold more water than the trunk of an elephant. You will love the shine.

4. CAUTION: MICROFIBER TOWELS AND PADS
Industrial paint and sealant manufacturers warn against washing your vehicle with the popular microfiber coths and pads. They are made from 80 to 85% polyester, which is plastic. Plastic scratches and over time and repeated use they will scratch the sealant off the surface and then start on the paint. Your RV will begin oxidizing even though you have meticulously cared for it.

5. PROTECT YOUR RV’s FINISH

Due to VOC regulations, paint no longer contains lead. (ya! Environment) Lead based paints provided a hard finish after they cured. Due to the change, paints are now considered “soft.” Sealants are either added to the paint or applied over the paint to protect it. If the sealant is scratched off due to microfiber, a low grade petroleum distillate or silicone, the paint is left vulnerable to rapid oxidation, rust and deterioration. We research and test our products.

Our Green Cleaners and Earth friendly cleaning tools must pass months of rigorous testing before they become part of our line up. Your auto, RV, boat and other vehicles are in safe hands with Mary Moppins.

6. ADVANTAGE WATERLESS WASH AND WAX

Mary Moppins solved the dilemma of what wax or protectant to use on an RV, boat, vehicle, airplane, truck or trailer. Mary talked to paint companies who advised against using products with petroleum distillates, because they can deteriorate the sealants. To answer the challenge we had Advantage developed to contain no distillates. Fiberglass manufacturing companies said to avoid carnauba wax since it turns fiberglass yellow. So we formulated our product with polymers that give you protection from UV ray damage without the yellowing effect of carnauba wax. No wonder we call it Advantage.

Only we didn't stop with just the best shine around, we had Advantage further deveolped to remove old petroleum distillates and mild oxidation leaving behind a deep rich color and a show stopping shine on any vehicle including RVs and motorhomes, trailers, fifth wheels or boat surface.

Advantage goes the extra step to protect decals, stripes, signs or lettering on your boat, vehicle, van, airplane, RV, truck or motorcycle from oxidation. Looking for an even better shine? Try polishing with our 100% cotton Baby Diaper Cloths. The only thing missing is the extra padding in the middle.

The polymers in Advantage make a surface slick, which means nothing sticks. Dirt, grease, grime and bugs find clinging to a slick surface rather difficult. You find washing to be easy when they don’t stick. Apply Advantage to your rear view mirrors and headlights for quick clean ups.< /p>

7. REMOVE BUGS

Always remove bugs from the front of any vehicle immediately. The acid in bugs cause pits in the paint. Look at the front where the paint has small chips. You thought those were rock chips. Those are caused from the acid in bug juice being left on the vehicle.

Advantage is designed to dissolve dirt and bugs on contact. By using Advantage 3 or 4 times on the front of your RV or vehicle, layers of polymers build up making the surface ultra slick. Bugs, dirt, and grime wipe right off. Then apply 2 to 3 times a year to rejuvenate the coating.

“Mary, we live in Texas and the 'love bugs' make a horrible mess on our windshields. Is there any hope?”

Yes there is hope and it’s called our Window Wizzard. This Wizzard is made from 85% polyester or plastic. Plastic scratches so it scratches the bugs right off any windshield and it does a great job on windows at home too. Microfiber is 100% safe for glass or we would not sell it. There are two pads that come in the kit. One pad washes the windshield while the other dries.

8. OXIDATION, SCRATCHES AND WATER SPOTS
Test for oxidation twice a year by rubbing a bit of your wax on the side for a few minutes. If any color comes off, your vehicle is oxidizing and you must remove the oxidation to prevent loosing the paint entirely. Try our RenewzIt. It’s formulated to remove oxidation – even heavy oxidation, scratches, and water spots. Wait 24 hours then apply Advantage to restore the color and shine and prevent further oxidation.

9. WINDSHIELD WIPERS

Clean windshield wiper blades monthly with sudsy water to prevent them from smearing the windshield. It will extend the wear of the rubber which will save you the cost of frequent replacements. If they smear after cleaning then replace them.

Mary highly recommends purchasing windshield wiper covers. Say the temperature is 80 degrees. When the sun reflects off the glass it can be 100. Window Wiper Covers slow the deterioration of the rubber and extends their life. Pipe insulation found at hardware stores works as well. It’s just takes more storage room

10. TIRES AND WHEELS

Green clean your tires with a tire brush and CleanEz 4 times a year to prevent drying and cracking. If you decide to use a tire treatment, which most tire companies do not recommend, make sure it contains no petroleum distillates. You must request the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) from the manufacturer to determine if your tire treatment contains distillates. Look for aliphatic hydrocarbon, petroleum, hydrocarbon or mineral oil. These are all alternative names for petroleum distillates. Distillates wear down the rubber over time causing the tire to soften and blow out.

Leather/Vinyl Conditioner also removes most ink stains and blue jean dye. Apply it full strength twice yearly to deep condition and clean. Dilute with water to clean and condition weekly.

DAY NIGHT SHADES and WINDOW SCREENS

Cleaners of any kind will damage day night shades. Try our Industrial Dry Sponge. You’ll find the retail version at pet stores. Use it dry and wipe over the shades. These sponges whisk pet hair from furniture, clean window screens without water and do a quick job on lampshades.

SURFACES

Our CleanEzspeed cleans you through any cleaning chore from countertops, to showers, to toilets and appliances. It doubles as a spot remover for clothing and carpeting and furniture.

Leave no streaks behind with our Benya glass cleaner. It removes grease from black faced appliances, film from windows and windshields and never streaks glass.

To remove a stain in Corian countertops or sinks: Mix a paste of baking soda and 3% hydrogen peroxide. Gently scrub with a non-scratch pad. If the stain refuses to budge then try a Mr. Muscle white scrub pad. Rub very gently as it will scratch the surface. It is toxic so wear gloves

If your Corian needs a bit of perking up clean it good first then use Advantage to restore the shine and color.

Wood cabinets and furniture

Wood cabinets and furniture must be conditioned to prevent them from drying and cracking. Our all natural and earth friendly Wood Care deep treats wood cabinets. Wood Care restores bathroom cabinets damaged by steam, water marks and scratches. Dilute with water to clean and condition cabinets and furniture weekly.

Do not use any wood care product on acrylic faced cabinets. Even Wood Care will damage those finishes. Use warm water only.

Caution: Never use a product that contains petroleum distillates. The fumes are toxic and can be carcinogenic. If you have been using a product like Pledge or Liquid Gold never use another product. The combination of the products may cause the sealant to become gummy. Always test for compatibility before apply any wood care product.

ADVANTAGE – INSIDE

Have you Advantaged your toilets today? Clean your toilet then remove the water by turning off the valve at the back and flush. Dry the bowl. Spray Advantage in the toilet and wipe around. Wait 5 minutes and bring the water back in. The polymers that protect your RV or vehicle make a surface slick so nothing sticks. Cleaning toilets was never easier. (Carnauba wax products will not work.)

Remove rust, iron and hard water stains in toilets by using our EraseIt for Bathrooms. Pumice stones will scratch a toilet but not EraseIt for Bathrooms. You speed clean your way through those nasty stains. Advantage helps prevent water marks from forming in your toilet. Remember nothing sticks to a slick surface.

Advantage works great for showers too only spray it on a cloth and wipe on the walls and doors otherwise the spray from Advantage will settle on the floor making the floor slick.

The small stuff counts
It’s the small tricks of the cleaning trade that make life so much easier. Like using a 1 ½ inch paint brush to nap cobwebs across the tops of valances, door hinges or fan vents.

Or switching soap to a glycerin or organic soap to prevent clogged drains and soap scum buildup on shower walls.

Or getting two brand new spray bottles. Fill one bottle half full with water add 2 drops of organic liquid dish soap, shake a bit and fill with water. Fill the other bottle with ¼ cup food grade (make sure your vinegar is food grade) and water. Mark the bottles. Use the liquid dish soap bottle to wash plates, glasses etc. Spray with the vinegar and water to rinse. This is a great method to reduce water usage especially if you are dry camping or in an area with drought.
