Removing Carpet and Upholstery Stains

Fabric furniture and mattresses can be a bit tricky to remove stains. Mary's #1 rule of cleaning is: Give your product time to work. That means letting the cleaner set on the stains for 15 to 20 minutes. Since liquids soak right through fabric furniture and mattresses, they don't sit on the stain long enough to dissolve it.

In the case of urine, vomit or fecal matter the best product to use to remove both the stain and odor is Natures Miracle found at pet stores. It is a liquid and will soak through so try spraying on the Natures Miracle first then soak a rag and lay it on top of the stain keeping the rag damp.

For most other stains try foaming shaving cream. The gel won't work. The foam is thick so it sets on the stain long enough to remove it. The denatured alcohol in foaming shaving cream often is enough to get rid of the stain.
